Alec Ilstrup (b. 1998, Santa Clara, CA) is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY. He grew up in the Seattle area and his recent work tends to focus on themes such as preservation and masculinity in relation to the body. He attended Pratt Institute, graduating class of 2022 with a BFA in Photography and a minor in Art History. He is the founder of Blue Hour Press, an independent publishing press specializing in small-edition photobooks and zines. Ilstrup’s photographic work has been featured in publications such as Consequence Sound, Ear Milk, Mundane Magazine, Gibberish, and Your Local Newsstand.
